Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Hello, I have been in USA for over 11 years. I overstayed my visa. I got a 2 year old child. In May 2010 I got married for American citizen. But.. a few days after the wedding my husband was arrested for drugs. I didn't know anything about his problem. Since then we are not in touch. I don't know where he is. We are still married. Is there any chance to get a green card? Thank you very much for your reply Monika

If your husband was either mentally or physically abusing you then you may have a claim under VAWA - violence against women act.
Essentially this means you can petition for your immigration papers without your husband having to act as your petitioner. Consult with an Immigration Attorney to make sure you qualify. Feel free to get my contact information under my website.
Good luck
