Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
I got a bill for annual checkup from doctor's office. They are in my insurance network, and told me at the time of the visit there would be no copay. Now turns out the receptionist in the doc office didn't have the info or even the right to talk about insurance, didn't know what she was talking about, and I have no proof she told me that. Turns out I needed a referral from primary physician to go to any other doctor for annual checkup. Is there anything I can do about it all? Thanks.

Your contract of insurance controls. The oral representations on the phone do not rise to the level of a claim on your behalf. Check with the insurance company next time and get their response in writing.
