Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
Borrowed car
17 Year Old son lent his truck - titled to parents, without parental permission, to a friend. Friend got into accident and charged with ''careless driving''. Minor damage to other vehicle (approx. $250). Friend parents not wanting to take responsiblity for damage to truck. We cannot afford to report to insurance company and pay higher auto ins. premium ... we have 2 more kids that will be driving in 3 years. Is there any option other than lawyers?

Sue the kid.
Re: Borrowed car
I'm not quite sure what the problem is. The $250? or the Damage to your vehicle. It seems you should work out a way for your son to pay off the cost, unless of course, you gave him consent to lend out the truck.
You can sue the kid and his parents in small claims court.
