Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
Claim denial / abeyance not based on current claim
My car was stolen 3 month ago. The ins. company took title and was cutting me a check. When I submitted my car rental bill, which one month I pay in cash and second month by check, they froze my check. An investigator interviewed me and verified the car rental. Later I recieved a letter stating they were holding my cliam in abeyance because they are requesting proof that a check from a cliam (car rental reinbrust) from 3 year ago was cashed. Can they not pay this claim because something that has nothing to do with the claim in question.

No doubt they are looking into your claims history, which they have the right to do.
