Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
Collection Agency Suit
I was involved in an accident (it will be 2 years in June). I never heard from anyone and now I received a letter from a collection agency demanding over $20,000.00. I called the agency, and they told me that they have tried to contact me, this is not the case, and that they are going to garnish my wages. I only make $7.00 an hour. I did not have insurance on the vehicle when I hit this person. I was told I did from the Buy Here dealer I bought the car from. No one was injured at the time. They are now telling me that the man was severely injured. What should I do?
