Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
We own a condo with no homeowners insurance (long story, please don't judge). Just came home from vacation and the upstairs neighbor's water heater leaked into our condo, soaking drywall and ceiling. I have an emergency mold guy here to minimize damage. Without insurance of my own, can and how do I go about getting reimbursed from the neighbor's insurance?

Unless you can prove he knew or should have known of defect in water heater, you have no legal claim.

You can start by sending a demand letter to the neighbor advising them as to what occurred. You may need to prove some negligence as Mr. Slater suggests. More facts are needed. Seek some legal help. Get insurance in place now.
