Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
Home owners claim on water leak
Long story short. My central AC unit sits on my roof. It is an all in one unit. Apparently it started leaking due to the coils needing to be cleaned. It has leaked into my second floor and damaged my duct system, walls, tiles etc. I have home owners insurance and they are refusing to cover the damages. Who is responsible and is there anybody liable for the damages being caused to my second floor?? I have all the proper insurance coverage.

Re: Home owners claim on water leak
It depends on what your coverage says. what is covered and what is not can sometimes be the subject of dispute. Look at the language of the policy. The insurance company must disclose to you the clause and language that they rely upon in denying the claim. Ask them.

If you can prove the HOA was negligent, they would also be responsible.
