my house was broken into in march and was paid by my insurance $8000 for my loss to replace some of my stuff. i just got a letter stating i was overpaid by $6000+ and need to repay. what can i do?

Depends on the facts. If you had $2000 of damage and got a check for $8,000, then you owe $6000
