Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
legal binding policy
How bond by law is a insurance company to uphold their policy? I called after not receiving a bill for two months and was told I no longer had insurance, so two months into a one year policy I was dropped without notice or explanation. What are my rights?

Re: legal binding policy
An insurance policy is no different than any other contract, and as such an insurance company is bound to perform when they are paid.
In terms of cancellation, there are very stringent rules under Florida law providing the reason and manner in which an insurance policy can be cancelled. No insurance policy can be cancelled without written notice. Accordingly, you should request that you be provided with a copy of the notice of intent to cancel and the actual notice of cancellation.
