Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
My liability if I own a car
I have a car in my name but it is my daughter and son-in-law's car. She only has one payment left on it and then it will be paid off. She wants to keep the car in my name because she still has a 6 year warranty left on it. If I transfer the title it will void the warranty. I would like to know that if she were to get into an accident and seriously injure someone, could the other driver come back on me because I own the car? Could they sue me or put a lien on my house? She and I both have seperate insurance policies at the same company. i would really like to help her and keep the car in my name but my husband and I are arguing because he is afraid that we could be sued if something should happen. Please help me settle this argument. Thank you

Your husband is correct. The solution is a large insruance policy to protect him.
