Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

Loss of disability insurance

My wife found out today that her disability insurance had been accedentally dropped by the school disctrict she teaches at. Apparently, there was a computer issue and she was dropped. The benefits admin for the school said that they sent out emails letting people know that they would have to re-enroll. My wife did not notice the emails and now the school district says she cannot get it back. The amount that was supposed to be taken out of her check was only $13 and she did not notice that that money was not being deducted. The reason she got it was because we were trying to get pragnant and it would help us out when she was out. Anyways, they say its to late and that she will have to re-enroll at open enrollment in Oct. which she will be declined for because she is now pragnant. Does she have any legal recourse since she never declined or terminated the coverage?

Re: Loss of disability insurance

She is probably out of luck since she ignored the e-mail.
