Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
lost ring on honeymoon
I lost a ring worth around $3000 at a
Sandals resort in St. Lucia. I think I
left in the safe. When I called about
it, they had found it. They got my
address and said they would mail it to
me. Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks and
I haven't received. it. I called about
it this Monday, Tuesday, and then
this morning. Is Sandals responsible
for the ring's return? I do have
renter's insurance with extended
coverages for jewelry.

Re: lost ring on honeymoon
If they did have it, then they are responsible for it. Since you say your may have left it in the safe, if they never did have it in their possession, then they are not responsible. Contact your renters insurance comapny -- although you probably needed a special rider for jewelry.
The law of Jamaica, which is where I believe Sandals is may be completely different.
Good luck.
