Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

pedestrian accident

I was in a turn lane with a green arrow traveling west about to turn onto a south bound road. The cars to my right where at a stop (red Light). A pedestrian came running from in between the cars into the path of my car. Said pedestrian landed on the hood of my car and windshield. No damage was done to my car. I notified my insurance company, a report was written on the scene. The police officer at the scene said i was not at fault, they would be siting the pedestrian for jay walking. My bodily injury coverage is only 10/20. Can this pedestrian sue me directly after recieving monies from the insurance company and how much am I liable for.

Re: pedestrian accident

While your insurance company may offer to settle for the full 10K the pedestrian may not agree. If you are sued your carrier is only responsible for the first 10. I suggest you obtain a private attorney to protect your rights. I concentrate in this type of law. Good luck.
