Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

I recently had to be hospitalized for an emergency surgery and, while in the hospital I was visited be a representative of an insurance provider that I was no longer being carried by. I thought nothing of it until I had been released from the hospital. Then, I began wondering what they were doing visiting me.?? Shortly after, I began recieving bills. I have not made any attempt to pay for these services. I figured that I hadn't been a member of their network for years. I never asked for them to come to visit me, etc. I have now begun recieving phone calls. Am I wrong not to pay these bills? Am I really responsible for these debts? How can I handle this situation properly. What is your advise?

I am unsure what bills you are receiving. Is this for an insurance premium for a policy that covered your hospitalization? Did you sign an agreement with this insurance provider? Without more information, I cannot provide an answer to your question. Call the insurance provider and ask them why they think you owe them for these bills. Ask for a copy of any contracts they claim you signed. Regards,
