Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

Roof obsolete

My in-laws, who live in Martin County Florida, had significant damage to their roof during the hurricanes this year. Their insurance adjuster gave them a check to have the roof repaired, however, after making four calls to roofers in the area we were told that there is no one who even knows how to repair the roof because it is a poured, terraced concrete roof--done in the sixty's. The insurance adjuster was called and told this and we were told we would ''just have to keep calling'' until we could find someone who could do the work. So, we called all the roofers in the yellow pages and were told the same information--they don't do these roofs anymore, they are obsolete, with many saying they didn't even know what kind of roof this was. We also called a roofing consultant and were told the same. What would be our recourse with the adjuster and how should we approach this. Thank-you.

Re: Roof obsolete

Whether they have to pay for a replacement roof or not would depend upon the wording of the policy.
