Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
''Uninsured Accident, Ins Co. sued 5 yrs later''
My boyfriend had an accident in 2001. It was his fault and he had no insurance. The other vehicle was totaled and his ins. co. covered the damages. My boyfriend just received a letter from the court stating that the ins. co. is suing now for the damages ($5500). Is there anything we could do? Should we hire a lawyer to fight it? How are the chances of winning the case? We can't afford it now is there any way out?

They have 4 years from the date of accident to start suit.
