Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida
I have a copywrite question for you. For instance Op is Ocean Pacific a company. Another company in a different field uses Op but it stands for Orlando Pride. Doesnt sell anything. Is there any copywrite issue here. And if so how can anyone copywrite two letters of the alphabet.
thank you

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this is not a copyright issue. It is a trademark (or service mark) issue. The answer depends on how the respective companies have protected their marks and when. Initials can be protected - think IBM, or AP (Associated Press). Consult with a good trademark or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
