Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

I have a friend that is making pictures of musicians and selling them. He is using a stencil to trace either their album artwork, name, logo, or random pictures that he finds online. Is this legal? If not, how could he change it so that it could be legal? For example, maybe using just a picture of the artist without the name, logo, or album art?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. It sounds like your friend is infringing on any of the intellectual property rights of these musicians, including any likeness. If so he can (and probably will) be sued. Consult with a good intellectual property or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
