Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Florida
Civil Infractions (noncriminal violations)
I am doing leagl research and a case I am researching is a state of Florida noncriminal violation (civil infraction) charge of possession of tobacco by a minor. The disposition was civil penalty closed. Is this disposition a non-conviction? Is civil penalty closed the same as dimissed with cost?
There is no area of law that deals with this question so I placed it under Juvenile Dependency considering the charge.

Re: Civil Infractions (noncriminal violations)
Different clerks' offices throughout the state put different things in the computer, so it's not always easy to tell what they mean when they place and a notation. My hunch is that the case was not dismissed, but concluded by payment of a fine.
