friend wants to leave home

my friend is 17 she wants to leave home. her parents are into drugs and she is trying to get away from that and has no relatives to go to is it legal for her to leave home and live with someone else

Her parents are responsible for her until she turns 18. If it is established that the parents' are drug-ridden and not taking care of her, some social agency can place her elsewhere or with a relative who would take her in.

Sounds to me that before she throws her life away too, she go and get some counseling to help her understand her parents' problems.

You are sure that what she says is true and she's just not trying to get out of the house?
