Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Florida
Okay, So my mother is crazy, Like batshit crazy. She hits me, Last week she hit me so bad that it busted my upper and lower lip, blackened both of my eyes, and made my nose swell up and bruise. She verbally abuses me, she yells at me and tells me what a whore i am and how no man is never gonna want me etc. She brings up the meanest things, like how i got raped and how my dad basicaly abandoned me. Shes the devil. Im not saying that im the perfect child. Im not the best at cleaning, I skip school, i sometimes sneak out, but she has no right to make my life a living hell. Now i am 15 turning 16 on November 10th which right now, is in 8 days. I hear from a lot of my friends that i can legally leave the house and i would not be a run away anymore. Is this true? All i want is out of this house. Im working on getting a job, i have an alternate place to live and all of that stuff. I dont know if she would emancipate me so are there any loopholes in the system? I live in florida.
Please help me get out of this hell.

You would be a runaway if you left the house before you turned 18. You should report the abuse to the police or a school counselor or teacher or to DCF. The number to DCF is 800-96-ABUSE.
