Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

application problem

I am filling out an application and one of the questions reads: ''Have you ever been convicted of, entered a plea of no contest, had prosecution deferred, or adjudication withheld for a crime, or do you have any criminal charges pending against you?''

I'm not sure if I need to answer the question yes or not. I have been arrested on a charge of petty theft, but before it went to court, I was offered to take a theft abatement class, and in exchange, the charges would be dropped. So I took the class. Is this prosecution deferred or adjudication withheld? do I have to answer yes to the question?

Re: application problem

You need to confirm with the County or State (or wherever the charges the brought) what the exact disposition was . . . there are so many different ways to classify "dismissals," not being a criminal attorney, I cannot give you specifics.
