Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
arrest without conviction
I am applying to a major bank for employment as a financial advisor (already liscensed). I have been arrested before and the charges were dropped, no conviction. Can the employer consider this arrest for hiring me? Do I have to explain the situation? Am I protected under certain acts EEOC rights for this?

Re: arrest without conviction
Florida is an employment at-will state, which means an employer can hire or fire for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all - - including a prior arrest or conviction.
