Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Bonus pay

I know that my wife is entitled to wages earned upon separation from her employer. What about her usual monthly bonus pay? Can her employer legally withhold her traditional bonus check while granting the the reward to its remaining employees?

Re: Bonus pay

Bonsuses typically fall within the discretion of an employer, and its unclear what "separation pay" you are referring to, unless it is a specific policy or practice of the employer, because neither Florida nor federal law provide for severance pay. Please consult an attorney for more specific guidance to protect her rights in a timely manner.
