Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Can a business ask an employee to give up personnal property or an employees state issued i.d. to complete job tasks required in a daily work environment? Example: Task A can only be completed with tools provided by the employer. However to get the tools from the employer the employee is asked to give up a personal item of value or his/her state identification (FL). There is no other way to get the tools to complete the task A. Is it legal for a company to ask this of an employee to give up personnal property to complete work?

What? This sounds fishy. Are you talking about giving-up collateral? I think the employer has some serious problems here.
