Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Cellular Phone Use in Workplace

Is it legal/ethical for a manager in a healthcare setting to ask an employee to use their personal cell phone to take pics/videos or voice recordings of another employee whom he believes to be ''unproductive''. There is no cell phone policy in place to my knowledge.

In Florida it is illegal (and a third degree felony) to audio record someone without their permission. The manager is asking the employee to committ an illegal act. Report this (in writing - and keep a copy for yourself) to your H.R. Department immediately.
