I have a compensation dispute with my current employer. I'd like to know what are my options if the amount is $30-$75k? What is the maximum amount that I can dispute in FL Small Claims ? or what is the typical charge to hire an attorney to pursue this ?

Small claims is $5,000 limit. You may be able to get an attorney to handle it on a contingency basis. Depending upon where you are located I can talk with you further about it or refer you the an attorney who can handle it for you.

Florida small claims court is limited to amounts of $5000 or less, so you will likely need to bring a civil action in court if you cannot reach an agreement with the employer.
Your first step might be to consult with an attorney to see how strong your case is. For example, many monetary disputes revolve around commissions that can be very difficult to recover. In any case, it is often worth negotiating a settlement and avoiding litigation, although you would typically accept less than the full amount to settle.

As for fees, attorneys charge anywhere from $100 to $500 per hour, depending on the case, their experience and expertise, and other factors. I try to keep costs down and use flat fees when appropriate, but as you probably know, litigation is very time consuming and that's why it is expensive.
