Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Contract employment without a contract

I was working for a company writing software and maintaing reports and databases. As per a verbal agreement, if at any time the company and myself wanted to part ways, the company would pay me 2 weeks salary to train my replacement. I don't have a contract, I just have a signed document stating that I am indemified from any and all actions of the company and myself. The company is now after me to train their personel for free. They are also threating me to 1099 any monies I received. I have already filed my taxes for my employment duration. What are my rights, can I withhold training my replacement until I receive the 2 weeks pay? The company has already threatend to have me arrested, called my family (my sister who does not reside in the same house as I do), etc...

Please let me know where I stand. Thank you in advance.

Re: Contract employment without a contract

Without a written agreement for a specific term, there is nothing enforceable here from your standpoint. In terms of being, arrested, no one can arrest you based on what you've provided, so it sounds like just bullying tactics.
