Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Can you be docked from a salary if you are an ''independent contractor''?

I need someone's help! I was working for a company for over 2 years...slowly their ''rules'' changed and not for the better..I was making a salary of $600 per week or 23% commission whichever is to be greater...if I didn't get any sales, they would chop off $100 from the $600. There were also ''cash insentives'' given as well...if you didn't write over $1,000 you didn't get that either...the worst part of all is that we had scheduled breaks...which from what I understand, now classifies me to be an employee vs. independent contractor...10-10:15am 12-12:45p and 2-2:15pm there is a lot more, but before I go on, I want to check to see if I have a case against them...they are also refusing to give me my last check and..to top it off, refusing to fill out papers for Department of Children and Families to show I am no longer employed there...and yes, they have filled out those forms before so I can prove the salaries I had made..thanks for your help!
