Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I am currently employed by the Federal Govt. and my question is this: Is there any legal remedy I may bring foward against them for the following situation: I worked as census employee and my first assignment was to visit homes in a certain area that is now designated as a "SEXUAL OFFENDER" recovery/rehabilitation area (information obtained because I searched the purported area before visiting the same) and upon my voiced concern to my crew leader, she said take a family member with you. I thought maybe she should have given my assignment to another person (preferably a male) but she didn't and never made a report to her boss about my situation and my concern. It was taking me too much time to complete this area because I had to wait on family members to take me to the area because I was scared to go by myself being a woman and after it took me 2 weeks to complete it, I was not issued a new assignement. My first concern, was why 1.) The Federal Gov't did not do simple research as I did to ensure that there enumerators are safe and 2.) Why wasn't my assignment changed or partnered up with another census worker. Please let me know.

You might want to speak with an employment attorney about a possible gender discrimination claim. You have an interesting issue.
