Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
After being employed for one year, the employer which is a small company, issues an agreement that in one section states you cannot work for another cellular company within a 1 mile radius after leaving the company. if you do not sign the agreement you will be terminated. is this legitimate? and if terminated, does it quality for unemployment compensation?

Yes employer can require you to sign noncompete agreement in order to keep you job. Question is how enforceable is the agreement. If they fire you for not signing, yes I believe you would be entitled to unemployment. Feel free to check out our employee rights blog at www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com
