Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I am an employee of a trucking company. I am not a sub-contrator and I am paid by payroll check with normal deductions for FICA and all other taxes.
My company fired me for taking a route they say was unauthorized (I was never told that and had taken the route before without incident). Now they are holding my check, pending deductions from my payroll for expenses they say they incurred during my route. They say that there are extra expenses and I have driven both rotes as well as others. None of them have any difference.....
It has been ten days since I was to be paid and they have not even called me regarding their decision.
What can I do?

Sue them in small claims for what they owe you. Under Florida law you are also entitled to your attorneys fees and costs incurred in recovering these amounts. For more information feel free to check out my website www.behrenlaw.com or my employee rights blog www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com.
