Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Employer Asking For Medical Information

I have a note from an emergency room physician stating, ''This patient is unable to work for 3 days and may resume normal work after''. My employer states this is not enough information to approve sick leave and wants more info. How much more information am I required to supply by law?

Re: Employer Asking For Medical Information

Probably none, but he may not have to keep you as an employee. I think he is looking for information about whether you can do ANY work. If you are a brick layer and can't life 25 pounds for 3 days, but can answer the phone, then your employer may move you to a position where you can do something.
