Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

My former employer was monitoring my instant message conversations without my knowledge at work. I was an independent contractor and was fired for those conversations. He has printed transcripts and is now showing the conversations to mutual friends in an attempt to embarass me. Is there anything I can do?
