Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Can employer not pay me my current wages if without notice today said they were downgrading my salary one dollar an hour without prior warning, notice reprimand and giving me a notice today saying if I dont sign will not pay me my current salary worked for. I was hired June 1 2009 and promised in six months I would be trainned as a medical assistant and the Dr Linda Marraccini would pay me the hours. I am currently attending school for a medical assistant certification program and was hired with a salary of twelve dollars an hour which was one dollar less than i was willing to accept as an understanding. When I started working because I have experience in a medical office I was not given any trainning, was not asked to attend any trainnings given at work for new computer system or phone system and now i am told without notice I get paid to much .

They can reduce your salary. They can't refuse to pay you for the work that you have already performed.
