Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Employers failure to pay salary

I recently lost my job with a marketing company after only three weeks due to what I would consider a bias job assignment. However, the employer has failed to pay me for the last two weeks of employment along with two weeks of traveling expenses accrued while on the job. I also sold the company a laptop computer for which they have not paid me, either. I want to know what the employer's obligations are to pay what I am owed and what I can do to make sure I am paid what is rightfully owed to me.

Re: Employers failure to pay salary

Go file a claim in Small Claims court if the amount is under $5000. Or you can consult an attorney and if your case is successful request that your attorney fees be paid.

Your employer was required under Florida law to pay you all earned wages no later than the first regularly scheduled payday which occurred after your last day of earned wages. Accordingly, if you'd like to pursue recovery of the monies which you are due, please feel free to contact me at (305) 755-9441.
