I am a employee paid with a salary. I work in a country club that was overgone some work and has to close down for five months. They are having us do manual duty to pass the time (painting fences, drywalling) mind you I am a chef. Here is my question my pay check was not the same amount it has been for the past two years. it was two hundred dollars less. They never told me it was going to be a lower amount I need to know if they went about this the right way and what I need to do to get the money I have been making for two years?

Unfortunately the law does not require an employer to pay you a specific salary. Rather, while there is a federal and Florida minimum wage for non-exempt employees, the issue you seem to be facing is that you're obviously--and understandably--unhappy that you're salary was reduced by a significant amount. That being said, you've continued to work under the salary. If you are performing non-exempt work (such as the manual work you described) and are working in excess of 40 hours per week, you may be owed overtime compensation beyond the salary that you've been paid, so you should consult with a lawyer to determine what rights you may have.
