Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Employment Law

I know that Florida is a ''Right To Work'' state, but I have a question about compensation and expectations. I hold the same position as another person in this office, but they are being paid bonusses and/or commission and I am not. Also, I am being given written goals that I am accountable for, but the other associate is not. What it boils down to is the company is having financial troubles, and an associate that has been here for years is being treated one way, while another (me) is being treated differently while doing the same job. There is no gender or race issue at work.

Re: Employment Law

In the absence of gender race etcetera issues, there is no law that requires an employer to treat people doing the same work the same way. It is probably bad business to do so and fuels dissention among employees. But, they can pay different amounts to different people for the same work. They can pay the same to two people but require one to do things not required of the other.
