Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Ending ties with local Electrical Union

I wish to cut my ties with the local labor union. Two years ago I was employing 60 people. After the event of 911 Worked stopped. I am now employing eight people. I wrote a letter resending my contract with the local union as per the instructions in the contract. The union imediately held a vote and allowed anyone that worked for me in the past year to cast a vote. The union did not allow my current employees to vote in the election. Needless to say I lost the vote. The union did not persue any written agreement nor did the union try to negotiate any labor deal with me. My Question is how can I proceed in my quest to sever the ties with the local labor union. What are the proper steps that I must take. I believe that my employees are ready to change the company, they realize that the union has priced us out of the market.
