Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

How enforceable is a non-compete in Florida in the insurance industry? My employer wants me to sign one for 2 years, 30 mile radius. Not soliciting current customers is understandable, but the way it is written is states that I can not write any business even for lines of insurance that I do not write for them.

Non competes in florida that are reasonable as to time, geographical distance and scope are fully enforceable. You should take the document very seriously and not just rush into signing it thinking that it won't be enforeable at a later time. Your best course of action is to have an attorney review it BEFORE you sign it.
