Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
hello my name is ***** ***** and i have experienced a bad case of integrity within my company to start off how this situation occured. my car just went out in which i could not make it to work now i live in tampa i work across the water in st.petersburg i could not find a ride to work so i missed a few days not only was i critised for not wanting my job which my job is everything my livelyhood but, what really struck me is that i recieved a call from a friend and my former boss of a company i worked at two to three years ago now these are two seperate cities and from my understanding what was said to them is if i didnt show to work that i was to be fired im very upset that this information left our business to another city now when i confronted my regional manager he said in a arrogant tone that he's sorry that there is no walls to for privacy. this information should have never left my company not to mention go as far as the manager and regional manger thats it could you help!!

Unfortunately, you cannot keep true information regarding your employment out of the ears of others. An exception to this would be if you have a contract with the employer which prohibits them from speaking about your employment (I've never heard of such a contract, but people are free to agree to whatever contract they desire). Another exception would be if the information told to others was FALSE, and the people KNEW it was false when they said it. From my understanding, neither situation exists in your case.
