Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Family members in same company

My brother works for a company through a temp agency. The company hires people from this temp agency only every six months or so. That time has come. The company has a policy about no family members working there. His wife's sister's husband work for them. Can this man be considered a member of his family?

Re: Family members in same company

That would probably depend on the specific wording of the company's policy which prohibits family members from working together there. The issue is whether the policy covers only immediate family members or extended family members. If the policy simply says "family members," then a reasonable interpretation should be that it covers only the immediate family. However, your brother should seek clarification from management at the company, if the policy is not clear.
