Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I'm fearful that my former employer has lied to me about sending out my final paycheck and commissions owed to me. I have sent e-mails and have not received any reply. After leaving a phone message, I called back and spoke to him. He said he mailed it, when I asked when he put it in the mail so I would know when to receive it, he hung up on me. I don'thave any money and can not afford the small claims court fee. What shall I do?
