in Texas call Texas Workforce Commission for prompt payment...look on internet for comparable agency in Florida..they have the ability to make employers pay...Hiring a lawyer would be difficult as you probably are due less than $2000, right...but look on internet for Florida collection lawyers..if you want to sue..and have proof of what you are owed..good luck

Depending on a number of things, including your job description and the size of the company, the company may likely in violation of a federal statute called the Fair Labor Standards Act. They may also be in violation of a state labor statute.

If they won't pay, your only recouse may be to file a claim in small claims court. It is a simple process and the forms are available at the court house -- although your absence from Tampa will make the process more difficult and costly for you.
