Getting fired base on some staement

As of Oct.22, I was Terminated from the school board base on a felony arrest! But they stated i fail to self-report within 48hours which i have paper work showing i did. I wanted to know if im suppose to appeal for a DOAH hearing or go to human resouce with copys of my paper work showing i did report. cause when i look for another job, basically the people from personnel will state I fail to report and I want this off my record. Please, what should I do? Thank you for your time!

Co first to HR and to your supervisor to see if this can be corrected. Don't delay meeting any appeal deadlines that may have been provided in your termination papers.
