Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

getting fired for having a hat in the back of my job

i was fired for having my hat in the back of the building. they said that they warned me before and written me up for it but i never saw the write up when they supposable did it. the reason why it is unfair is because women that i work with can wear revealing outfits and not be in uniform and not get in trouble but because i had a hat they fired me. the hat didn't even have anything discriminating or inapproprite. i just don't think i was treated fair in this sitution. is there anything i can do?

Unless you have some union agreement or employment contract that states otherwise, there is nothing illegal about firing an employee for wearing a hat. That said, if the real reason you were terminated was because of your race, gender, national origin or age and the company just used "wearing a hat" as a made up excuse, then the termination may be illegal. There may also be a problem if the company has a policy that allows women to wear a hat in back of the building, but forbids men to do the same.
