Fired because of maternity leave

I have worked at a large credit union for over 3 years. I started out full time and went to part time 2 years ago. I am 8.5 months pregnant and told my employer that I would be taking my leave starting February 15th back in December. I was told at that time that I would be able to come back to my same position. In January I was given my annual review and received excellent marks and a pay raise. Today was my last day at work and I was told that they would not be needing me to come back (I was fired) because they said I didn't work enough hours last year to qualify for FMLA. Do I have any legal rights?

You may have a civil rights claim for pregnancy-based gender discrimination. I would suggest that you consult an attorney, as soon as possible.
