Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
fired from position
I have been working as a nursing
supervisor for a Gastro-intestinal
clinic for over six years. I was
recently fired from the position, in
spite of receiving consistently exceptional evaluations; the reason given that they now require a nurse who has a master's degree. I do not have a master's degree. Is this legal?

Re: fired from position
Yes -- unless you have a contract that prevents them from firing you under these circumstances (which would be very very unusual) -- it is perfectly legal. Florida is not known as a place that particularly protects workers or workers' rights.
