Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

forced overtime

I work for a large company in the service division. The number of jobs they give us to complete in a scheduled 10 hr. day is impossible to complete. They do pay overtime and say we must take our lunch hour. Are they breaking any laws and do we have any recourse action to take

Unfortunately not. The only thing you could do is find other work. The law does not regulate how many hours your employer can ask you or require to work.

Re: forced overtime

If you are being paid for all the hours that you actually work, then I do not see a violation. I assume from your question you are not working on your lunch hour and are not being paid for that time and that you are receiving appropriate pay for overtime hours worked.
