Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Health Insurance
My husband has Blue Cross & Blue Shield medical Insurance through the co. he works for. The Insurance was cancelled for non payment. The employer takes out money each week from his employees but never paid. It was cancelled since 5-1-08 & now it is 6-20-08. They have been getting the run around. The Ins. is to be reinstated as of midnight tonight. Isn't the employer obligated to pay the employee's back what was taken out of there check wkly for the month of May? Since they had no insurance. Not sure where that money went. OR will the ins. co. pick up for the month of May since it will be reinstated. There are 4 Co.'s lots of employee's. Everyone feels money was taken out of there pay check wkly under false pretenses. Is the employer obligated to pay back for the time there was no insurance even though it was taken out of there check. thanks

If the money was taken out for health insurance that was not provided, then it must be returned.
